How to win over that healthy heart this valentine's day.

We have all heard that the stomach is often the way to heart and we personally tend to agree. With out sweeties in mind as well as the health of our hearts, here is a perfect and simple meal to enjoy together.

First, a texture and flavor rich salad that not only has heart-healthy fats, but is full of rich antioxidants.

  • 15 cherry tomatoes (quartered)
  • 4 cups of lettuce (anything but iceberg)
  • 1/4 red onion (sliced)
  • 1 medium avocado (diced)
  • 2 tbs (each) olive oil & balsamic
  • 1 tbs red wine vinegar
Mix and toss!

Second. The EASIEST roasted chicken you will ever make!
Take the fresh chicken (we recommend 3-5 lbs) and give it a good clean. Then, the most important part, DRY the chicken thoroughly! After it is dry, stuff with desired DRY herbs, tress, and liberally salt (pepper if desired).  Bake at 450 for 15 minutes per pound, or until meat thermometer reads 165 degrees. Serve with an assortment of roasted veggies. We recommend carrots, beets, and squash. Remember, the more color the more nutrients!

And finally, dessert. This is simple and tasty too. Gather you favorite assortment of fruit and cut and arrange on skewers. Then melt some delicious dark chocolate and drizzle over fruit. Chocolate, especially dark and in this form contains beneficial compounds known to help the heart.

Enjoy your meal with some red wine or deep-red juices. These both have antioxidant polyphenols that are heart approved!
